Preheat oven to 375F.
Cut apples in quarters and slice them into ¼ inch pieces.
add ¼ cup of sugar and lemon juice and set aside.
Place the butter and the rest of the sugar (¼ cup) and cook in the stove for about 5 minutes at medium heat.
Add the heavy cream and let it cook for another 5 minutes.
Add the apples slices inclusding the juices from the lemon and sugar. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
Remove from the heat and place the apples flat on an oven-safe skillet.
Cover the apples with a round sheet of puff pastry.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until the puff pastry is golden brown.
Let it cool down and serve with whipped cream or ice cream
