Easy Apple Tarte Tatin

Ingredients
  

  • 4 Granny Smith Apples
  • 3 Tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice
  • ½ Cup White Sugar
  • 4 Tablespoons Butter
  • ¼ Cup Heavy Cream
  • ½ Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375F.
  • Cut apples in quarters and slice them into ¼ inch pieces.

  • add ¼ cup of sugar and lemon juice and set aside.
  • Place the butter and the rest of the sugar (¼ cup) and cook in the stove for about 5 minutes at medium heat.
  • Add the heavy cream and let it cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Add the apples slices inclusding the juices from the lemon and sugar. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and place the apples flat on an oven-safe skillet.
  • Cover the apples with a round sheet of puff pastry.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until the puff pastry is golden brown.
  • Let it cool down and serve with whipped cream or ice cream
