    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

Disaronno sour is an easy and rich cocktail consisting of amaretto liquor and fresh citrus fruit.

When I thought of Disaronno, the Italian almond based liquor, I always associated it with sweet, rich, decadent, creamy cocktails, but this week I had the pleasure to meet Kelli, the regional ambassador for Disaronno, and she showed me a new way to enjoy this gem of Italy.

Meet Disaronno Sour! A combination of flavors and aromas so unexpected but so well paired that will leave you craving some more. Orange and Almond were definitely not in my list of possible mixes for a cocktail but they work so well together that I wanted seconds.

    Ingredients:

For this cocktail you need Disaronno liquor, fresh squeezed orange juice and simple syrup.

You can also make this cocktail lime or lemon juice but the trick is to use fresh juice and not bottled.

The richness of the amaretto, the aroma of the orange and sour tangy taste of lime juice and sweet syrup, are just the perfect team to delight your taste buds and quench your thirst.

    What is Disaronno?

    • The word Disaronno translates "from Saronno" which is the region in Milan where this liquor was born.
    • Each year, Disaronno partners up with a designer to develop a project together and launch and exclusive Christmas bottle design. Their headquarters are in Milan, the fashion capital of Italy, therefore fashion and spirits are the perfect combo, right?
    • The brand Disaronno dates from 1525!

    Cheers my friends!
