If you’ve ever wanted to check out the beautiful Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, this Labor Day is the perfect time to visit. The hotel, set against a backdrop of Arizona’s McDowell Mountains, will be hosting its 7th Annual Labor Day Dreamcation weekend (September 1–4, 2017) in a unique way: The AAA Five Diamond resort will be transforming into a cruise ship and the “port of call” will be Cuba! Guests will experience this colorful culture by way of Cuban music, a vintage car show, cigar rollers, rum tastings, and fireworks!

The Dreamcation weekend begins as guests are greeted at the “ship dock” by valets in guayabera shirts and Panama hats, before checking in amidst an American classic car show, featuring more than 40 vintage vehicles!
The Fairmont “Funergy” Team has a full itinerary of shore excursions for the kids at Sunset Beach, like fishing with Ranger Rick, swimming with Moon Mermaid at Mermaid University, watermelon eating contests and giant dominoes, a nod to a favorite Cuban pastime.

The Princess now has two adults-only pools, where sipping classic Cuban cocktails and listening to the sounds of a steel drum band will whisk the grown-ups away to a tropical paradise. Rum lovers can discover 150 different types of rum at Toro Latin Restaurant & Rum Bar. If the spa is more your style, enjoy mojito and coffee-scented treatments, “Get on Your Feet” dance classes, and mojito-infused chilled towels at Well & Being Spa. Calgon take me away!
Oh, and how romantic would it be to renew your wedding vows with the resort’s very own “ship captain,” Thomas Williams (an ordained minister). After the ceremony, the couple will be toasted with champagne and then hop on a decorated golf cart cruise around the resort. So cute! Guests will also enjoy free lawn concerts to heat up the nights! The Miami-salsa beats of the Rhythm Sound Machine will perform on Friday and Sunday nights and the high-energy ‘80s Spazmatics band will headline Saturday.
This will also be the last weekend to attend the Techno Glo Party at the Sonoran Splash pool complex. This party has water slides with black lights, lasers, fog and the hottest hits played by DJ Splash as LED hula hoopers perform!
As the grand finale to a spectacular summer, Fireworks will light up the sky at 9 p.m., Friday – Sunday nights, as the grand finale to the Dreamcation.
But the fun isn’t over for night owls: After the concerts, The Plaza Bar becomes the Havana Club with a DJ and salsa dancing, Cuban food and cigar rollers.
