Hashani Spa at JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort and Spa

I’ve become a regular spa connoisseur lately, getting massages as often as I possibly can. So, you can trust me when I say your experience at Hashani Spa, located inside JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort and Spa in Tucson, will be just what the holistic doctor ordered!

This 20,000 square. ft. award-winning spa is an oasis in the Sonoran Desert, with three floors dedicated to wellness. The amenities are outrageous! You’ll find a state-of-the-art gym, a dance and yoga studio, a salon, separate men’s and women’s lounges, and a private saline lap pool. The women’s lounge offers a eucalyptus steam room, indoor whirlpool, perfect for relaxing ahead of your treatments. (This is especially nice if you’ve taken advantage of scenic hiking at the resort or any number of fitness classes offered.) They even offer memberships, so you can take advantage of all the facility has to offer, even if you never purchase additional services. Oh, but you’ll want to, and here’s why:

The spa menu is unreal, offering every service imaginable, from cupping to Ashiatsu to mud wraps to Ayurvedic rituals! Add a cactus flower enhancement to your treatment while you’re at it! Choose from eight different facials. In case you’re thinking this will be a strictly new age experience, think again: Hashani Spa offers the latest in high tech, anti-aging treatments, like LED light therapy and medical-grade Intraceuticals products. Though I didn’t opt for any salon services, they have an extensive menu of those as well.
My Hashani Signature Massage was so good that the therapist worked muscles I didn’t even know I had! Seriously, I had to ask Jon (my therapist) what I was feeling at one point! (I won’t leave you in suspense: It was the quadratus lumborum, or QL, muscle, which is actually the deepest abdominal muscle and a common cause of back pain, but I digress.)

The Spa Amenities

One of my favorite aspects of the spa is also one of the most unique, and that’s its aromatherapy bar. Hashani truly aims to incorporate the desert’s indigenous plants, herbs, and elements into all of its treatments. You’ll find rows of apothecary jars full of soothing hibiscus and calming lavender, among others. (Are you saying, “Aaahhhh,” yet?!)

Looking for some serious royal treatment? You can enhance your spa experience by relaxing in one of four cabanas, complete with personalized service and fresh water. But don’t feel like spa services are only for the elite. Hashani offers deals all the time, like free lunch with any spa service, and buy one, get one discounts.
