    Viral Pizza Skulls

    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This Halloween recipe for pizza skulls has gone viral on TikTok a few times and it is perfect to make with kids.

This recipe is a must for your Halloween party food list. These skull pizzas are a great Halloween appetizer for adults or main meal for kids.

You only need a handful of ingredients (mostly your choice of pizza toppings) and a skull baking pan.

    Recipe Highlights

These viral pizza skulls take only about 15 minutes of prep. Maybe a bit more if you are doing it with the kids but it is easy!

It only requires store-bought ingredients that are ready to use like pizza dough, pizza sauce, cheese and pepperoni or any other meat you like on your pizza.

    Ingredients

    • Pizza dough: I bought the regular crust pizza dough that comes in a can. Any brand works.
    • Pizza sauce: You can put this in the skulls or leave it as a dipping sauce for serving. I used it both in the pizza skulls and as dipping sauce.
    • Cheese: Any shredded melty cheese works. You can use mozzarella but I recently discovered Quesadilla cheese at the store (Kroger Mercado brand) and I love it!
    • Pepperoni: Use your favorite kind of meat. I bought a package of deli meats that included pepperoni, salami and peppered Sopressata for a little bit of variety. Some people use cooked sausage too.
    • Italian seasoning: I sprinkled a little Italian seasoning after adding the cheese for extra flavor.

    Instructions

Open the pizza dough can and unroll it on a cutting board and cut it into 6 equal squares.

Spray the skull pan with non-stick spray oil and add one square of pizza dough to each skull mold.

Add a spoonful of pizza sauce, cheese and meat. Add a sprinkle of Italian seasoning.

Enclose the pizza dough by bringing all the corners to the center and pinching the ends together. It doesn't have to look perfect but make sure there is no holes.

Press the pizza pockets gently to make sure the bottom is touching all the crevices of the skull mold.

Bake at 375 F for 15 minutes or until the top is slightly golden. The bottoms of the pizzas cook faster that the tops, so make sure to remove them promptly so they don't burn.
