    Blackberry Sparkling Lemonade

    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This Blackberry Sparkling Lemonade uses the fresh seasonal blackberries muddled with honey and fresh squeezed lemon juice to make the most refreshing summer drink.

    Recipe highlights

In this recipe we will be using the whole fruit and lightly muddling it, I love the pops of freshness that the seeds add to the drink.

If you prefer a seedless drink, you can make an easy blackberry simple syrup instead.

This drink is a like white canvas that you can use as the starting point for any other drink you want to create. Add rum and you have a tasty mojito, tequila for a margarita or simply enjoy as is.

    Ingredients

    • Blackberries: They are mildly tart and sweet with a lots of texture and beautiful color.
    • Honey: Can use any sweetener in place of honey. Maple syrup or just simple syrup work well.
    • Lemon juice: When it comes to beverages, freshly squeezed fruit juices are the best option. Reserve a few thin slices for garnish.
    • Mint: As a garnish but also can be muddled with the blackberries for a touch of fresh flavor.

    Instructions

Slice 4 thin lemon slices and reserve for garnishes. I like to use a bread knife to slice the lemon.

Add blackberries to a tall glass, add lemon juice and honey and lightly muddle them with a pestle.

Add ice to the glass, a lemon slice and carefully top with soda water.

    Garnish with mint and enjoy.

    Make ahead instructions

If you'd like to make a big batch all at once, use a pitcher and make the blackberry puree, add the lemon juice and honey and refrigerate until ready to serve.

When ready to serve add the soda water and add the ice to the glass before serving.
