This twist on the loved classic BLT includes creamy burrata nestled on toasted sourdough bread with a thick layer of pesto.

We keep the classic elements from the original BLT; crispy bacon, crunchy lettuce and juicy tomatoes. The burrata adds a creamy element that makes this sandwich indulgent and irresistible.
If you like this sandwich you'd love my burrata and prosciutto sandwich that includes pesto and fig jam. One of my favorites!
Ingredients

- Burrata cheese: At first glance, burrata looks like regular mozzarella cheese. Indeed the outer casing of burrata is made out of mozzarella. But the inside holds a creamy filling that is rich and buttery; hence its name.
- Sourdough bread: I'm partial to sourdough when it comes to bread. Thick slices of toasted homemade sourdough, lend the sturdiness necessary to hold all the components of this BLT. Focaccia or ciabatta are also good alternatives.
- Bacon: Use thick cut bacon for this recipe.
- Lettuce: I use a lettuce that is crisp to add some fresh crunch. I used butter lettuce.
- Tomatoes: Choose your favorite variety. I used heirloom tomatoes, but beefsteak tomatoes are a great option.
- Mayo: Slather a thick layer of mayo on the toasted bread.
- Pesto: I love the punchy flavor that pesto imparts. It compliments the tomatoes and burrata so well.
- Garlic clove: I rub it around my toasted bread for extra flavor.
- Salt and pepper: I love to use flakey salt and freshly ground pepper.
Instructions
I start by toasting my sourdough bread in a skillet with a generous drizzle of oil.
After the bread is toasted to my liking, I like to rub a garlic clove around it for extra flavor.
Then I proceeded to cook the bacon, cut the tomatoes and slather the bread with the mayo and pesto.

To assemble it I layer the mayo on one piece of bread, top with lettuce, sliced tomatoes (add salt and pepper), burrata (add olive oil, salt and pepper) and top with bacon and the other slice of bread with pesto on it.
