Hey friends!
If you follow me on Instagram, you met me for the first time on Saturday! As you all know, TastyAZ is a food blog and I have kept my Instagram feed strictly food, up until now. However being a blogger has open incredible doors for me and has given me the opportunity to meet many amazing people and be part of great events that are not always food only. Phoenix Fashion Week was one of those amazing opportunities that have been presented to me as a blogger and I couldn't miss out.
I also had the incredible opportunity to partner up with White House Black Market who generously dressed me up from head to toe. I went to their Arrowhead boutique in Phoenix and their wonderful team helped me pick the most stylish, classic and trendy outfit for the occasion.
It was my first time at a fashion show and it couldn't have been better. It was inspiring, energizing and I was in awe with the talent of the designers that showcased their art. The atmosphere was so stylish and upbeat, definitely an experience that will never forget.
Designers
amazing and talented individuals from all over the world came to Phoenix to be part of PHFW 2016. One of the reasons many of them were here is that they were part of a four month boot camp that the organization puts together to help emerging designers. This workshops help them kick start their business and position their brands.
Of the many talented designers I have to highlight two amazing women: Monica Mauro and Amanda Casarez. I had the pleasure of interviewing both of the for AZLatinos and get to know a little bit more about this super talented girl bosses.
Monica Mauro is a jewelry designer and her creations wi th druzy stones are stunning. She creates beautiful accessories with unique natural stones that are trendy, fashionable and modern. If you wear one of her pieces I promise you that you will no go unnoticed.
Amanda Casarez came all the way from D.C. To showcase her collection "deconstructed self". Delicate, flowy and feminine pieces with a cold tone pallete; mint, rose and white. Love the dreamy feeling of her pieces, the silhouette and colors she chose for this collection were breathtaking.

Dinner at Orange Sky
after the fashion show on Saturday I had a fabulous dinner at Orange Sky, the restaurant on the top floor of Talking Stick Resort who was also hosting PHFW.
I started with the lemon drop martini, which is one of my favorite drinks. The views from the restaurant are probably the most romantic here in Arizona, it is a perfect place for a date overseeing the city.
Then we ordered the bacon wrapped scallops, they were a delight and probably my favorite dish of the night. For entree I ordered the New York Strip, I need to try it again to decide if I love it or not.
For dessert we tried the lemon curd cheesecake with macadamia nuts. It was tasty but I would try something different next time.
