    Pistachio Cream Recipe

    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This homemade pistachio cream is a three-ingredient recipe that is easy to make and better than the store-bought version.

If you have been on social media lately, pistachio cream is having a viral moment thanks to the Dubai Chocolate Bar.

This viral Dubai Chocolate Bar has been all over social media because of its delicious pistachio creamy filling.

However, pistachio cream is not easy to come by. You have to buy it at a specialty grocer or online, and it is pricey.

    Recipe highlights (crema al pistacchio)

You must try this recipe because it is so simple to make and way better than the commercial versions. You only need three ingredients and about 20 minutes to make this pistachio cream.

You can use this recipe in many preparations. Think of it as a Nutella (chocolate hazelnut spread) but made with pistachio.

You can use pistachio cream to spread on waffles, pancakes, croissants...the possibilities are endless here.

One of my favorite uses of this pistachio cream is to make a latte. When I visited Florence in Italy, I had a pistachio latte that I still dream of.

    Ingredients

For this pistachio cream you will need three ingredients:

    • Unsalted pistachios: I like to buy dry roasted but unsalted pistachios that are already peeled. If you can't find dry roasted just buy raw pistachios and bake at 350°F for about 6-7 minutes.
    • Condensed milk: I like to sweeten the pistachio cream with condensed milk because it makes it so easy to mix with the pistachio paste.
    • Milk: This ingredient helps us make the pistachio cream more liquid and easier to spread. In this recipe I'm aiming for the texture needed to make the viral Dubai chocolate bar.

    How to make pistachio cream

Here is a quick overview on how to make pistachio cream with some photos to guide you through the process.

The recipe card at the end of the post will have measurements and additional instructions.

    Make the pistachio paste

Using a food processor, grind the pistachios until a thick paste forms. It will take a few minutes so be patient.

    Add the condensed milk

While the food processor is still running, add the condensed milk to the pistachios. It will form a thicker paste but we will thin it out with the whole milk until we get a creamy texture.

    How to store it

I store my pistachio cream in a glass jar with a lid and keep it refrigerated.

It keeps well in the fridge for up to 10 days.

    How to use it

Think of this pistachio cream as a Nutella! Spread on pancakes, waffles or use it to dip fruit such as strawberries and bananas.

I loved making the viral Dubai chocolate bar filled with pistachio cream and kataifi for a delicious treat.
