If you are looking for a fail-proof banana bread, this viral recipe from chef Shereen Pavleedes is where is at.
I added my own twist by incorporating chocolate chunks to the recipe, you can't go wrong with that.
Why is this TikTok banana bread viral?
This banana bread is moist without feeling undercooked.
You will love this recipe because yields a beautiful golden brown banana bread, studded with semi sweet chocolate chunks.
You will find this banana bread perfectly sweet, balanced, with nice hints of banana flavor that compliment the semi sweet chocolate.
This banana bread comes together in one bowl. You can mix it by hand with a whisk or use a hand mixer.
Ingredients
- Ripe bananas
- Eggs
- Butter
- Flour
- Semi sweet chocolate
- Brown sugar
- Vanilla extract
- Baking powder
Instructions
In a bowl combine the room temperature butter and sugar and use a hand mixer until everything is light in color and fluffy in texture (about 3-4 minutes).
Add the eggs to the mixture and mashed the bananas. Add the vanilla extract.
Add the flour and use a spatula to fold it in in the wet ingredients. Do not over mix.
Add the chocolate chunks if using and top with a sliced banana if you want (the presentation is so pretty).
Storage
This banana bread is best when fresh. You can leave it at room temperature for a few hours if you plan on eating it the same day.
You can store any leftovers in an airtight container and keep it refrigerated for up to 4-5 days.
Reheat it for 30 seconds in the microwave and enjoy!
Now my question to you is, do you add a pat of butter to your banana bread or not?
I personally don't, I know, I know. I feel like the banana bread itself is already decadent, I don't need to add another rich element. Is that just me?
