A week of take-out food with Toyota Highlander

Last week I had the opportunity to partner up with Toyota to support our local restaurants.

I drove the new Toyota Highlander hybrid across town while getting takeout food from some amazing local restaurants.

Toyota Highlander

One of the things I love about the new Toyota Highlander was the fuel economy. Being a hybrid vehicle I expect an excellent fuel economy and it exceeded my expectations.

Takeout food

We started the week with one of our favorite Thai restaurants in Peoria, AZ called Sala Thai.

We love this family owned business and support them every time we can. The food is always spot on in terms of heat and flavor, it truly is a west-side gem.

Pad Thai

We ordered pad Thai, spicy pineapple rice, chicken teriyaki, and sticky mango rice for dessert.

On day 2 we visited one of my favorite latin restaurants; Cuban Foods Bakery which makes one of the most delicious guava and cheese patries.

Another local restaurant we supported was Twisted Italian. They are offering a great family takeout deal that includes pasta, salad and wine.

That week was my husband’s birthday so we also picked up a special birthday dinner from Macayo’s.

chimichangas

We got some chimichangas, guac and chips, salsa, spinach queso (highly recommend this).

Spinach queso dip

Also got a cookie dough cake from Coldstone at Tempe Market Place which is my husband’s favorite.

Toyota Highlander Feaures

As I mentioned before, I love Toyota’s hybrid line of vehicles.

I have reviewed a few of them and each time I drive a new one I like it more than the previous. For a sedan, the Toyota Camry is one of my favorites.

The Highlander is a perfect family car. Easy enough for me to drive (I hate when a car feels too big or bulky) and spacious and big enough for my husband to love it.

A couple of the times we were out we got compliments on the car and people asked us to show them the inside so this is definitely a car that will get noticed wherever you go.

The Toyota navigation system in the Highlander was probably my favorite feature. The 360 backup camera is a function that I’d like my next car to have for sure.

The ability to be able to see all my surroundings, the back of the car, the sides and the front made me feel more in charge and more confident when driving.

The interior was beautiful, with tan leather and breathable seats. Another feature I loved was the wireless phone charger; such a convenient thing to have!

Toyota also sent us a super cute activity box with chalk and some templates to color our driveway! It was a perfect project for my kid and it doubled as his art project for school.

Thanks Toyota for theming up with me to support the local Arizona restaurants that need our support more than ever. We are in this together!
