    TikTok Chicken Cobbler

    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This TikTok chicken cobbler features the famous Red Lobster cheddar biscuit mix to make a delicious casserole similar to a pot pie.

Why you will love this viral recipe

This recipe is pure comfort food. It is hearty and delicious.

You can make this recipe in just a few steps, add veggies for more nutritional value and enjoy a complete meal in one dish.

If you love one pot meals that are hearty you will definitely love this recipe.

This creation is inspired by yourbarefootneighbor on TikTok.

    Ingredients

You can tweak this recipe to your liking and add your own spin. I tried to follow the recipe as shared on TikTok but will definitely make some adjustments next time I make it.

    • Chicken: You can use a rotisserie chicken for convenience. I used 2 chicken breasts I cooked on my Instantpot.
    • Red Lobster Biscuit Mix: This will give the top crust to our pot pie style dish.
    • Cream of chicken: This will help moisten all the ingredients in our chicken casserole.
    • Carrots and peas: A bag of frozen carrots and peas is what the original creator used. You use use your favorite veggie mix. This will also be great with broccoli.
    • Milk: Full fat milk to stir our biscuit mix.
    • Chicken stock: This will add extra flavor and help all the ingredients cook evenly.
    • Butter: to prevent the chicken from sticking to the bottom of the baking dish.

    Instructions

This chicken cobbler comes together quickly. Use rotisserie chicken for an even quicker meal.

Fist melt the butter and add it to the bottom of your baking dish. Layer the cooked chicken and add the bag of frozen veggies.

In a separate bowl, mix the Red Lobster cheddar biscuit mix with the milk and pour it on top of the chicken and veggies mix.

In another bowl, mix the cream of chicken soup and the chicken stock until well combined. Pour it over the chicken mixture.

Follow the steps without mixing the ingredients, just pour and layer them as is. It looks off but trust the process.

What to serve with chicken cobbler

This dish is a meal on its own. You can compliment this dish with a nice fresh salad and you are all set.

A nice fresh romaine salad with caesar dressing or arugula with lemon and parmesan cheese would go great with this dish.

Made this today for our class of high school boys ( couple of girls too).
It was a tremendous success, and the only change I wish I'd made is to double the recipe. I'll be making this at home for an easy, comfort food dinner.

I kept seeing people say how great this was so decided to try it. My family was not a fan and requested we not have it again. It was also very bland.

        Hi Shellie,

Sorry you didn't enjoy the recipe. Do you mind sharing what type of chicken you used? Did you cook the chicken or used a rotisserie one?

        Thanks for the feedback.

Well, I finally broke down and made the famous TikTok chicken cobbler!
The recipe is fairly easy to follow, and I think it came out delicious.
My only mistake was I did not use the full 2 cups of milk (because I didn’t have enough) and I did not use the full 2 cups of chicken broth. I just thought that was way too much liquid for only 2 cups of chicken. I was wrong. It definitely needs the full amounts of the liquids. Next time I will use low sodium chicken broth it was a little salty for my taste. I saw the video on Instagram not TikTok where the guy does this recipe but I think he puts cheddar cheese in it? I did not add cheddar cheese, but I do think that could make it tasty!

        Hi Kim,

Thanks for the detailed review. I appreciate it. For some people 2 cups of liquid is too much, it probably has something to do with the altitude at which they are baking the casserole. For my first try I followed his exact recipe and for others tests reduced the chicken broth. Both came out good for me with the recipe with less liquid having a more firm crust.

Let me know how you like it next time. Cheddar cheese is a fabulous add on.

I made this the day after Thanksgiving with leftover turkey and we liked it so much that we're having it tonight using a Costco rotisserie chicken. Basically, I didn't feel like cooking, and putting it together to bake was less work than going to get takeout. I bought Red Lobster biscuit mix, but I bet it would work with Bisquick or homemade biscuit mix (which would be a lot cheaper). It reminds me a lot of the impossible quiches and casseroles that my mom used to make in the 70s, so it tastes a bit nostalgic to me. Thanks for the recipe!
