Recently I had the opportunity to go on a road trip adventure with Mazda at the WAG conference. I was a little worried about driving a car that was not mine because I am so used to my car that, that it makes me nervous when driving someone else's car,
I think most people feel the same way; it takes a lot of time to get acquainted with a new car, especially with heavy traffic like in California.
To my surprise, in less than ten minutes I was feeling as if that Mazda 6 I was driving was my own car. The comfort and ease to get adjusted to the car were an incredible feeling, from the moment I turned the engine on, adjusted my seat, mirror and buckled my seatbelt up, I felt as if I have always driven that blue Mazda 6 that I got the chance to ride. It was incredible!
The seats were so comfortable and felt so luxurious, the view for my drive was the beautiful Palos Verdes, CA community which would be our adventure destination for a day filled with fun, creativity, and empowerment.
The Cars
We started our day with a caravan of beautiful Mazda vehicles; from the standard sedan to the stylish convertible and the large SUV, driving along the California coast of Palos Verdes, which offered stunning views of the mountains and ocean. I personally loved to drive the Mazda 6; back when I was in college in Colombia, the Mazda 6 was the hottest car on the market, the most youthful, luxurious and desired car, truly my dream car.
However, I also had the chance to ride in the Mazda CX 5 which was super spacious without feeling bulky. I do not like cars that feel too big, the Mazda CX5 was a perfect size and plenty of room inside, I would say it makes a great family car without feeling like a mommy car.
Of course, the convertible stole the spotlight, everyone was lining up to take pictures with it, especially with the beautiful ocean and blue sky background, the day could not have been any more perfect for a road trip.
Painting by the ocean
Learning how to paint is something I always wanted to do but never made the time for. I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to art than the painting class that Mazda prepared for us. Learning how to paint overlooking the beautiful pacific ocean at the Terranea Resort was an unexpected yet amazing experience, the perfect way to grasp the concept behind all of the artistic components that a Mazda incorporates in their car's design. Mazda takes pride in the art of Japanese design, every single detail makes a difference; from the fabrics to the thread and scents, Mazda cars are all about details.
Chocolate and Wine
The end of the day was delightful. Terranea's pastry chef and sommelier offered us a crash course on sweet wines and handcrafted chocolates made with ingredients harvest on premise. It was an incredible sensorial experience and the perfect way to end a sweet day that left me feeling renewed, refreshed and empowered. Thank you to Mazda for such a fantastic opportunity.
