    TikTok Crookie Recipe

    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

The Crookie; a mash up between a croissant and a cookie is the latest TikTok craze and the results are insanely good!

This TikTok trend originated in the French bakery Maison Louvard and it has exploded into a global viral recipe.

    Recipe highlights

This recipe only requires 2 ingredients; croissants and cookie dough.

You can either use store-bought, already baked croissants or like me, use frozen croissants.

I used the Trade Joe's frozen mini croissants because they are the perfect size and they are incredibly delicious.

Baking your own croissants allows you to underbake them slightly so when you add the cookie dough they are not too crunchy.

This recipe is a perfect brunch treat, they look unique and they are so delicious!

    Ingredients for the Crookie

For this recipe you only need baked croissants (or frozen, highly recommend) and chocolate chip cookie dough.

    • Frozen croissants: I love the mini croissants from Trader Joe's. You don't need to proof them and they are ready to bake. Their size is perfect and they are so flaky and tender!
    • Chocolate chip cookie dough: I used store bought cookie dough but you can also use a homemade dough.
    • Powdered sugar: This is optional but makes the croissants look so pretty.

    Recipe steps

If using store-bought croissants, cut them in half lengthwise but don't cut all the way through.

Place a spoonful of cookie dough (1 square of dough) in the center and close the croissant. Add another piece (about ½ square of dough) on top.

Bake for about 15 minutes or until the dough on top is lightly browned.

If you are using frozen croissants, make sure they are ready to bake (no need to proof) and bake per package instructions.

I baked mine for about 23 minutes until they started to get golden brown. Let them cool down and proceed to cut them, add cookie dough and bake.

To serve sprinkle powdered sugar and enjoy.

    Recipe tips

This Crookie is sweet, gooey, crunchy and definitely a treat.

Use a bread knife to cut the slit in the croissants. I have also seen people use scissors to do this.

I recommend using no more than 1 square of cookie dough per mini croissant for the filling and about half a square of dough to top the croissant.

Cookie dough should be at room temperature so it is easy to spread inside the croissant.

Mini croissants are the perfect size for this treat in my opinion. A full-size croissant might be too much for one person to eat since it is so dense.

The cookie dough inside is going to be underbaked and very gooey so if you don't like that texture you might not enjoy these.
