If you are wondering what to serve at Easter brunch, these Easter Bunny Puff Pastry treats have you covered. They are so cute and delicious!

    Recipe highlights

This recipe is easy. There are no complicated steps and the ingredients are just a handful.

Puff pastry with Nutella is the perfect sweet side dish for a savory dish like sausage gravy with biscuits.

Puff pastry does the heavy lifting in this recipe and since we are using store-bought puff pastry.

These are fun to make with kids and they love to help decorate the puff pastry bunnies which makes it a fun family project.

    Ingredients for this recipe

This recipe only requires puff pastry, hazelnut chocolate spread (Nutella), chocolate candies (M&M's) and powdered sugar.

    • Puff pastry: I use store bought pastry sheets. The colder the puff pastry is, the better and easier it is to work with.
    • Chocolate spread: I love Nutella. You could use dulce de leche, cookie butter or any other chocolate based spread.
    • Chocolate candy: The Easter themed M&M's add a cute and colorful touch to this puff pastry bunnies. These are used to create the bunny faces. You can also add Cadbury eggs to decorate when serving.
    • Powdered sugar: For dusting the puff pastry bunnies before serving.

    Recipe step by step instructions

    Step 1

Unroll the puff pastry sheet and cut it in half.

Spread the Nutella on one of the half sheets and place the other one on top.

    Step 2

Cut the puff pastry into 1 inch thick strips. Reserve 3 of the strips to make the bunny ears (cut these in half inch size).

Roll the puff pastry strips to create a roll (similar to a cinnamon roll).

puff pastry on a wooden board.

Create a the ears with the thinner (½ inch) strips. To create the ears bring both ends of the strips to the center (it will look like a heart) and pinch them in the center to secure the shape.

Refrigerate the bunnies for about 5-10 minutes while preheating the oven.

    Step 3

Bake the puff pastries until they are slightly golden brown on top.

Create the bunny faces with 3 chocolate coated candies and sprinkle the powdered sugar. Serve and enjoy!

    • Bake at 375F for about 15 minutes until the puff pastry is golden brown.
    • Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

    Notes

If you use a dark baking sheet, the pastries cook faster at the bottom and might burn. Use a light colored baking sheet and line it with parchment paper.

I recently tried the Easter Bunny Puff Pastry recipe, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the flaky layers of perfectly golden puff pastry to the charming bunny shape that added a festive touch to our Easter table, every aspect of this treat was impressive. Not only was it visually appealing, but the taste was great, kids loved it. It was a hit with both the kids and adults alike, and it's definitely a recipe I'll be returning to for future Easter celebrations. Two thumbs up for this easy, yet show-stopping, addition to our holiday feast!
