Ingredients for this recipe
This recipe only requires puff pastry, hazelnut chocolate spread (Nutella), chocolate candies (M&M's) and powdered sugar.
- Puff pastry: I use store bought pastry sheets. The colder the puff pastry is, the better and easier it is to work with.
- Chocolate spread: I love Nutella. You could use dulce de leche, cookie butter or any other chocolate based spread.
- Chocolate candy: The Easter themed M&M's add a cute and colorful touch to this puff pastry bunnies. These are used to create the bunny faces. You can also add Cadbury eggs to decorate when serving.
- Powdered sugar: For dusting the puff pastry bunnies before serving.
Recipe step by step instructions
Step 1
Unroll the puff pastry sheet and cut it in half.
Spread the Nutella on one of the half sheets and place the other one on top.
Step 2
Cut the puff pastry into 1 inch thick strips. Reserve 3 of the strips to make the bunny ears (cut these in half inch size).
Roll the puff pastry strips to create a roll (similar to a cinnamon roll).
Create a the ears with the thinner (½ inch) strips. To create the ears bring both ends of the strips to the center (it will look like a heart) and pinch them in the center to secure the shape.
Refrigerate the bunnies for about 5-10 minutes while preheating the oven.
Step 3
Bake the puff pastries until they are slightly golden brown on top.
Create the bunny faces with 3 chocolate coated candies and sprinkle the powdered sugar. Serve and enjoy!
