Easter Sangria ingredients
This twist on the classic sangria adds a splash of flavor and bubbles for a refreshing spring and summer drink.
Here is what you need to make this sangria for Easter brunch or dinner.
- Red wine: I like the brand Campo Viejo Tempranillo. It is easily accessible in grocery stores nationwide.
- Brandy: This gold colored spirit adds the bold flavors to our sangria. Brandy Domecq Fundador is the best brand in my opinion.
- Liquor 43: This Spanish liquor is infused with vanilla flavor and adds a nice sweet flavor.
- Triple Sec: This liqueur is infused with citrus flavor and will blend perfectly in our sangria.
- Oranges: These are classic citrus fruit in sangria, you can use any variety but I prefer navel oranges.
- Apples: They add sweetness and visual appeal to the sangria. They release their flavor and aroma as the sangria sits in the fridge before being served. Use red or green apples.
- Apple Juice: To add a hint of sweetness to the sangria.
- Citrus flavor soda water: To add notes of fresh citrus use lime or lemon flavored soda when serving the sangria.
Instructions
Here is a quick overview of how to make this tasty Easter sangria.
My number one tip is to make this sangria ahead of time. Make it one day in advance for the best flavor.
If short on time, make sure to refrigerate the sangria for at least 2 hours before serving.
Cut the apples and oranges. In a large glass pitcher add the fruit, liqueur, brandy, wine and apple juice.
Mix everything well with a spoon, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
When ready to serve the sangria, add ice to each glass, the pour of sangria and top with the lemon soda water.
What to serve with sangria
